Mtp Usb Device Driver Error Iphone

Mtp usb device driver for iphone not working when you look at the properties for iphone it also states that there is a driver error! when i uninstall all apple software and drivers, and uninstall the apple mobile device usb driver from device manager, the problem is that windows automatically downloads a driver for this. Okay, am using iphone 3gs which was fine with vista but with windows 7 (pro version), i got the same old “mtp device driver failed to install message”.. However, when i plug the iphone into a usb port (using both a port and cable that formerly worked fine with this iphone), windows attempts to install a driver, and fails. the resulting message is "mtp usb device device driver software was not successfully installed"..

The drivers are available as part of itunes and are installed on the pc with the itunes software.the problem is when your iphone can be connected w/ itunes but win7 cannot detect iphone as portable device and you cannot copy the photos out from iphone.. Windows shows these drivers for the iphone on my computer and these show up in the properties of the mtp usb device - which is what windows 7 calls the iphone connection. umdfwpdmtpddr.dll winusb.sys. When i did that, windows claimed it was installing a driver named "iphone" (yippee!) but then it switched to "mtp usb device" and failed again. i've searched other forums and found strange and bizarre ideas that include exploding the itunes msi so i can get the apple usb device driver -- but that driver is installed and works just fine..
